Shannon Stephens, E-RYT 200

Shannon has been practicing yoga since 2002. In 2010 she received her 200 hour RYT certification in Lake Tahoe, California with Doug Swenson. Shannon specializes in both Vinyasa and Yin style classes. In 2015 she completed her Level 1-3 certification in Thai Yoga Bodywork with Chock Petchprom in Oklahoma City and in March, 2016 she will begin the journey toward her 500 hour RYT certification with Tiffany Cruikshank and Yoga Medicine. Shannon encourages students to welcome the present moment, to connect to the intricacies of their physical and emotional condition, and to become fully awake through mindful practice. Off the mat she enjoys painting, printmaking, and time outdoors. You can take a group Yin Yoga class with Shannon Friday evenings at 5:00 p.m. or book a private or semi-private session.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow style of yoga designed to target the connective tissue, increase circulation, improve flexibility, and promote a calm and balanced mind and body. Postures are typically passive and held for 2-5 minutes. Students are encouraged to relax within postures and to soften the muscles. Suitable for all levels of students, Yin Yoga is the perfect complement to the more physical styles of yoga. It is a wonderful way to relieve stress, increase flexibility, and maintain healthy joints.

Yin Blend

A blissful private session that combines Yin Yoga with hands-on assists and adjustments. By applying mild pressure in yin postures, blood vessels, lymph vessels, lymph nodes, and nerve fibers are stimulated and cells are charged with oxygen. This 75-minute session targets areas that accumulate stress and tension (head, neck, shoulders, back, and hips). Restore the body to its optimum vitality, rejuvenate the mind, and experience ultimate well-being.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga links each movement to the breath and includes sun-salutations, balancing, core exercises, seated postures, twists, backbends and inversions. Strengthen the body and calm the mind with dynamic movement and fluid transitions.
